The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight and portable laptop with a large 16-inch display. It’s powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and has 16GB of RAM, making it a capable machine for productivity and creative work.
Specs:
- 16-inch IPS display with 2560×1600 resolution
- Intel Core i7 processor
- 16GB of RAM
- 512GB SSD
- 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 USB Type A port, Audio jack, Micro SD card reader
Price: about $800 used
LCD:
The LCD is a 2560×1600 resolution display with beautiful colors and deep blacks. It’s also very glossy, which can make it difficult to see in direct sunlight. There’s no HDR support, but the touch screen is a nice addition. I would give the LCD a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
Keyboard and Trackpad:
The keyboard is tactile and responsive, with plenty of travel and a backlit design. It’s also full-size, which is great for data entry. I would give the keyboard a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
The trackpad is large and comfortable to use. It doesn’t ghost terribly, but it’s not the most precise we’ve tested. I would give the trackpad a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
Speakers:
The speakers are a bit disappointing. They’re not very loud and lack definition in the mids, highs, and lows. They distort at high volumes. I would give the speakers a rating of 2 out of 5 stars.
I/O:
Solid I/O with 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 USB Type A port, and an audio jack and micro SD card reader. I would give the I/O a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
Features:
No fingerprint scanner, though it does have a Windows Hello compatible camera. No HDR, no privacy shutter on camera, Does have a touch screen, backlit keyboard, and a good quality camera. Wifi 6 and Bluetooth included as well. I would give the features a rating of 3 out of 5 stars.
Mobility:
15+ hours of battery life. Super light weight, strong materials, the laptop body is made from Magnesium Alloy, and it weighs under 3 pounds. Our only complaint is the hinges wobbled some times when typing hard. I would give the mobility a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
Performance:
For a thin light weight computer it handles its multitasking and loads very well. I would give the performance a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
Who is it for?
Audio editors. Light video editors. CAD designers. Travelers and business men and women who like a big screen. Also great for those editing photography and using photoshop on site.
Who is it not for?
4k editors, gamers.
